Located in the foothills of Silves, the Country Riding Centre is a well established, purpose built horse riding facility which provides no comparison to any other in the Algarve, due to its fabulous location and fantastic atmosphere. The centre caters for riders of all abilities, so whether you are a complete beginner or an accomplished rider, the Country Riding Centre has something for everyone.

The riding school also provides for all tastes, be it a gentle hack through the scenic hillsides with magnificent views across Silves to the Monchique Mountains, Portimão and beyond, or a gallop along the almost forgotten tracks through orange and lemon groves and eucalyptus forests, or even a swim on horseback in the lake. The Country Riding Centre provides for all levels of riding ability and all ages.

For younger children, we have a pony walk which passes, across the streams, passing all types of animals and interesting things to see along the way. For older children and those of us who enjoy a leisurely stroll taking in the surroundings, we have an hour’s hack, which takes you to the top of the Silves hills where there are panoramic views.

For the more experienced riders and those who enjoy a bit of speed, we have 2 hour hacks with two different levels. The first is a medium hack with canter, the second an experienced hack with gallop.
For those that really want to kick back and get away from it all, there is also the option of a half day ride up to the lake, with a picnic included.

For those who would prefer a riding lesson, the Country Riding Centre has fully qualified and approved by the Portuguese Equestrian Federation, and speak English, Portuguese, Dutch and German, from whom you can learn everything from basic riding to dressage to showjumping.

The riding centre also offers a complete livery service for your horse, so if you are looking to relocate or have already done so and are interested in purchasing your own horse, but have nowhere to keep it or not enough time to look after it, then this is the ideal place for you and your horse.
