Almancil is a town and a civil parish of Loulé, situated in the Algarve region in the south of Portugal. Almancil is a resort in the southern shoreline of Portugal enjoying a warm climate all year round. It has become an important centre for providing services to feed the needs of two nearby well-established holiday and residential developments; Quinta Do Lago and Vale Do Lobo. T

he area has many resorts and housing developments which appeal mainly to the English. In keeping with the needs of the area there is a large selection of restaurants offering many different forms of cuisine. Also, there are many real estate offices, interior decorators and furnishing shops. Located in the east of the village is the church of São Lourenço.

Covered inside with beautiful 18th Century ceramic tiles it is an outstanding example of Algarvian Architecture. Also located in Almancil is the Estádio Algarve which was used in the 2004 European Football Championship. It is the home ground of Louletano DC and SC Farense and is also used for charity matches from time to time.

According with a 2007 study made by two consulting groups, Quinta Do Lago along with Almancil and Vale Do Lobo make up the most expensive real estate region in Portugal, with average land prices of €5000 (around 6900 USD) per square meter. The proximity to golf courses and to places such as Vilamoura, Vale de Lobo and Quinta do Lago makes Almancil the perfect place for business. Faro International airport is just a short drive away.
